The Right Airplane Begins With the Right Questions
Buying an aircraft should be one of the most rewarding decisions you make. It is also a decision with consequences long after the purchase price has been paid. The right airplane must fit your flying, your finances, and the way you intend to own it. Its condition and records must stand up to careful examination. And when your needs change, you should have a sensible path to sell it. That is why buyers hire us.
We are Randy and Nick Africano, a father and son team that helps individuals and businesses acquire personal and corporate aircraft but Twin Comanches are one of our three specialty airplanes. Our work begins by getting to know you. We want you to understand the Twin Comanche you buy, the reasons we recommend it, and the costs and responsibilities that come with owning it.
We do not have an airplane we need you to buy. We have a standard an airplane must meet before we recommend it.
Experience you can put to work
Randy Africano has been a pilot for 55 years, an aircraft owner for 50 consecutive years, and has owned, flown and maintained literally every model of the Piper Twin Comanche. That experience shapes a firm rule here in that we represent buyers and sellers only for aircraft models we have owned and flown ourselves.
Owning an airplane teaches lessons that specifications and sales listings just cannot. We bring those lessons to the search, the appraisal, the inspection, and the conversations that follow your purchase.
We learn your mission before we search
An airplane that is right for another owner may be wrong for you. We begin with how you plan to use it: the people and baggage you carry, the trips you expect to fly, your experience as a pilot, your budget, and your plan of ownership.
Together, we establish criteria for the Twin Comanche you need and its equipment you require. Those criteria guide our search and give us a sound basis for saying no when an appealing airplane does not serve your needs.
Every candidate aircraft must earn our recommendation
We survey each aircraft before presenting it to you as a serious purchase candidate. We examine its condition, equipment, modifications, maintenance history, AD compliance and records. We appraise all of the airplanes we recommend in detail, including the contribution of its aftermarket equipment and modifications to its value.
For the airplanes we present on our website, we make the underlying information available for your own review, including the aircraft, engine, and propeller logbooks; Pilot's Operating Handbook; FAA Form 337s; applicable Airworthiness Directive information and status; parts and maintenance manuals; and our custom, detailed appraisal. We want our buyers to be able to see the evidence behind a recommendation.
If an aircraft advances to a prebuy inspection, we attend and represent your interests in person. We help you understand what the inspection reveals and what those findings mean for the purchase decision. Sometimes the right decision is to negotiate. Sometimes it is to keep looking.
We think about the day you sell, too
The purchase is the beginning of your ownership experience, not the end of the financial story. We evaluate every candidate aircraft with an exit strategy in mind. Our aim is to find an aircraft whose purchase price, condition, equipment, and likely market appeal give it the best reasonable chance of retaining its value after five years or 500 hours of use.
And engine time is a significant part of that analysis. We seek aircraft positioned so that, after approximately 500 hours of your use, the engine times will be around midlife, plus or minus 100 hours. These are demanding selection standards, not promises about future value or maintenance outcomes. They help us make a more informed purchase decision with you today.
Our work continues after delivery
An aircraft owner's questions do not end at closing. We remain available to the people we represent for as long as they own the airplane. Whether you are sorting through a maintenance decision, considering an improvement or avionics upgrade, or thinking about your next aircraft, you can call people who know you, the airplane and the market.
Let's start with your mission
